Will the new Logic3 Ferrari Audio Collection be worth it?  That is a great question!!  Overall I am not the biggest fan of Logic3 accessories, mainly because they look really cool on the website but cheap when you get them in your hand.  That's not to say the products don't work because they do, they just seem like they are made of "lesser quality materials," than maybe Speakal or iHome products.

The following can be found on Logic3's website concerning the release of the headphones/earphones:

"The Scuderia Ferrari Headphones and Earphones offer sleek design and high-quality audio, accompanied by superior comfort level in and on the ears. Mirroring Ferrari’s F1 styling, the whole collection is available in the following formats:

  • The R200 On-Ear Headphones are available in silver or white (£199)
  • The P200 Over-Ear Headphones pay tribute to those worn in the F1 pits, are available in red or black (£199)
  • The R100  and R100i  Earphones, which feature TFAT and noise isolating technology, are available in black or white (£119)
  • The S100 and S100i Earphones, which feature TFAT and noise isolating technology, are available in red or white (£99)

The Ferrari Cavallino Headphones and Earphones deliver a premium audio experience coupled with sumptuous comfort. With a focus on fine materials and detail, the collection is available in the following formats:

  • The T250 On-Ear Headphones are available in black or tan (£229)
  • The T150  and T150i Earphones, which feature TFAT and noise isolating technology are available in black or tan (£149)
  • The G150 and G150i Earphones, which feature TFAT and noise isolating technology are available in black or white (£129)"

If the headphones/earphones are as good as the company says they are, they will be a great addition to anyones accessories cabinet.  As for me, I am going to wait and see.  I would rather test them out a little before I give a thumbs up or thumbs down.  Being that headphones with wires are on the rise again thanks to Beats By Dre, Logic3 may begin to see some love from those here in the States.  I guess we will have to wait and see.  Until next time.

God Bless,

Shawn

New Releases from Otterbox

July 17, 2012 7:26:42 PM CDT

Otterbox has released it's new Anthem Series Cases just in time for the 2012 Olympic Games iwhich are being held n London beginning July 27th.  If you haven't seen these new beauties click here to check them out.  These are by far some of the best Country base themed cases I have seen in a long time.  I even like the one for Canada.

Otterbox seems to be stepping their game up wtih the release of several new lines like the Studio Series, Anthlem Series, the new colors for the iPad Otterbox, and of course the Armor Series which boast the ability to withstand a 20 ft drop, 10 ft of water, and 2 tons of pressure.  I CAN'T wait to get this case in my hands!!

Overall it looks like Otterbox is trying to maintain their TOP DOG status within the accessories market and if they keep producing more top notch cases like their new lines, companies like LifeProof, Trident, and Ballistc may become just things of the past.  Stay tuned as I am sure this war is just heating up!!  Until next time.

Much love,

Shawn

Back to the Basics

July 17, 2012 6:01:26 PM CDT

Lately, I (Shawn) have been racking my brain to figure out how we have gotten off track as a company from our original goals of being the best source of smart technology accessory information on the internet.  While I can point to many things, I think the biggest reasson is because we were trying to do too much instead of just focusing on our passion which is:  Accessories.

We love technology but what we love more is finding the best accessoreis for the technology we love so much.  Whether it's for the iPhone, iPad, or even the Kindle, we strive to find the best accessories and give our customers the best information possible that will help them meet the needs they have for thier smart technology devices.

Over all we are returning to the basics:  We are accessory junkies.  We LOVE them!!  We sit around and talk about them in the office.  We play with them during the day.  We even run them over with 18 wheelers: So, be looking for TONS of new content covering cases, bluetooth devices, and more.  We want Zellatek to be the place consumers can trust for acurate and reliable information that will help them make the best decisions possible when it comes to the accessories they are looking for.  Thanks to everyone who have ordered, commented on, and subscribed to Zellatek.  We appericiate it more than we can say!!

Sincerely,

Shawn Wilson

A new iPhone 5 release date rumor has hit the internet. This time an August launch has been speculated for Apple, based on a report from a Taiwanese tech Web site. Also included in the speculation is a rumored spec upgrade in the form of a A5X chip, which was used in the iPad 3 tablet.

According to International Business Times of Australia, Digitimes website from Taiwain has reported that Apple may launch the new iPhone in August. The reason for Apple to release in August would be to go up against their strong competitor, Samsung, and its updated batch of smartphones on the market.

The IBTimes website notes:

"It seems that tech giant Apple is threatened by the continuously rising sales of Samsung Galaxy S3 as well as the piling rumours that its rival company will be releasing another smartphone in fall."

Top 5 coolest iPhone GPS stories on the web

June 21, 2012 3:27:41 PM CDT

Have you ever wondered if that GPS app you downloaded actualy works?  We have been trolling the net looking for stories on the success rate of iPhone users getting their phones back by using a GPS enabled app.  Below are the Top 5 stories (in no particuar order) that caught our attention and we thought you would like to check out.  Enjoy!!

5.  iPhone GPS aids in capture of car theft suspect.

If you are going to steal a car in the near future, you may want to make sure that there is not an iPhone anywhere in the car!!!  While I am sure the criminal in question probably thought he not only was getting a ride but also a free phone.  What he got instead was a night in county jail.

iPhone GPS app:  1  Criminal:  0

4.  GPS app leads officers to stolen iPhone.

First off if you are going to steal an iPhone WHY would you pawn it at a pawn shop?  You wil get WAY more money by selling it to a loser friend then you would over selling it to a pawn shop.  Really folks!!  Does this kid have any brain matter inside his head?  An iPhone EASILY goes for several hundred dollars online depending on the condition but selling it to a pawn shop is just stupid!!

iPhone GPS app:  2  Criminal:  0

3.  Mugging victim tracks suspects via iPhone's GPS.

I would have loved to have seen this  confrontation.

Muggers:  HAHAHAH dude we totally loaded up!!  Check it out!!  AN IPHONE!!

Victim:  Excuse me I believe that all belongs to me!!

Police:  Are these the suspects sir?

Victim:  Yes.

Police:  Looks like you will be spending the night in jail gentleman.

iPhone GPS app:  3  Criminal:  0

2.  iPhone GPS helped police track down thief.

You would think that people would begin to wise up when it comes to the smart technology market.  I mean if you can look up great places to eat on your iPhone and get directions all at the same time, you would think that criminals would be like, "Hey we probably want to throw this phone out the window, we might be tracked."  Nope!!  Not this guy!!  Chalk one up to another great iPhone GPS app story.

iPhone GPS app:  4  Criminal:  0

1.  Student tracks down iPhone thief using GPS technology.

This whole article is worth the few minutes it takes to read it as this story place out like a movie.  Someone steals a guys phone and him and his friends use a computer to locate it by GPS and tell their friends on the hunt where to go, turn, etc.  I imagine it played out like a Borne movie or 24 episode.  This by far is my favorite story on iPhone and GPS apps!!!

iPhone GPS app:  5  Criminal:  0

The moral of the stories above is that if you are going to spend your hard earned money on an iPhone you should equip it with a top notch GPS app in the even that it is stolen or lost.  We will highlight some of the best iPhone/Andriod GPS apps in a coming blog.  Until then.

Much love,

Shawn Wilson

App of the Week: DiamondDash

March 15, 2012 10:26:41 PM CDT

App of the Week: DiamondDash

Cost: Free (add ons are available)

This is a fun puzzle type game where you touch 3 or more same color jewels as quickly as you can. You have 60 seconds, and every time you touch gems of the same color they disappear and are replaced with other jewels.

If you consistently find 3 or more of a kind (and don’t press on places that don’t have at least 3 matching colors), you will eventually get “jewel bombs” (different from purchased bombs below). When you tap these shining jewels, they will take out a row and column, and quickly increase your score. Another thing to boost your score is finding big groupings of same color jewels. The score increases exponentially with each additional jewel grouped together.

I can honestly say this game is quickly addicting. It has Facebook integration as well so you can post your score and you can compare your score among friends (you do have to let it access your profile info and do all that other stuff that you have to do to let third party software on your Facebook page, much like Farmville, etc). Also, there is tournament ranking so you can see your score compared to that of your friends.

You are given 5 “hearts”, which are basically 5 times you can play. Once you are out of hearts you have to buy more or wait a few minutes for them to replenish. If you link it to Facebook you get 10 extra hearts, and some Facebook friends can even send you more hearts.

The nice thing is you can’t keep playing forever. So, as addicting as it is, you can’t waste too much time playing. Once your hearts are out, you are forced to do something else (like play another game...but it might be good to actually pay attention to a loved one or something now and then...just a thought).

Also, the more you play you get silver coins that you can eventually use to buy “bombs” and “hourglasses.” The bombs cost 300 silver coins for one game use. If you buy them, at random times through the game you can tap them and they will take out a bunch of jewels, giving you a bigger score. If you buy the hour glasses, they will come up at random times, and if you tap them, they will add a few seconds to your game play. You can even save up coins and buy both of them.

The more you play the more experience points you get, which multiplies your score, as well as eventually will unlock the bomb and the hourglass.

It’s a really fun, fast-paced game that will keep you on your toes and give your brain a bit of a workout!

Sincerely,
Nick Andrus

Skech Hard Rubber Case for iPhone 4/4S

March 15, 2012 10:20:45 PM CDT

The Pros:

I like this case because it combines protection while keeping the sleekness of the iPhone 4/4S.

The hard rubber gives it a rubber feel while still allowing easy sliding into your pocket (not sticking like a rubber otterbox or a silicone case). Ladies might also like it because it won’t stick to their hair while they are on the phone.

The inside has a felt covering that will keep the glass back of the phone from scratching.  If the case is just plastic or even silicone going up against the glass back, you are at risk of rubbing grooves or scratches, or getting dust/sand in the back that can also scratch the back. So, the felt on the back is a good thing to keep it safe.

Best of all, there is a space between the case and the phone--almost like a “buffer zone.” It’s made similar to a football helmet, so if there is a shock or an impact, the force of the impact spreads around the case rather than going right to the phone.

Is it as protective as, say, an Otter or a Trident case? No. It’s not a “tank” to use “the Guru’s” terminology. Now, if you are a paratrooper going behind enemy lines into Afghanistan, this case might not be for you. If you are a parent in the habit of giving your $500+ dollar device to a 3 year old to keep them busy, this case probably isn’t for you (and maybe an iPhone in general isn’t a good idea for you). Anyway, I digress...

If you are a reasonably careful person, this case works fine. I have even dropped mine several times. Two times while running to my car my phone fell out of my pocket and landed face down then bounced around the asphalt about 4 times.

Scratched the case, but the phone itself was not damaged. One time my phone landed facedown and slid across the sidewalk--the entire slide it was face down. Still, no damage to the screen.

The Cons:

The bad thing about the skech case is that much like most quality cases, there is limited selection on styles. There are no graphics or logos available. I have found that most cases with some of the cooler graphics and logos seem to spend more time and effort on the look of the case rather than on the functionality and protection of the case. So, unfortunately, you have to choose if you want your case to combine protection with simplicity and sleekness, or if you want a graphic or logo on your case with cheap plastic/rubber.

It is a two-piece case, so the bottom does come off. That could mean disaster, and usually does for most cases. The bottom just pops off. I do notice that the skech don't come off as easily as others. The case itself seems to fit on the entire phone, rather than just snapping together. So, the bottom doesn’t seem to come off easily, even after months of use. Two-piece cases that do have a snap seem to come off more easily with time because the snap wears out.

One positive in the midst of the apparent downside of a two-piece case is that if you need to put your phone in a dock to charge and/or play music, you can take only the bottom off rather than having to take the entire case off. However, if you tend to wear more skinny jeans and you put your phone in your back pocket, there can be a chance that when you take the phone off the bottom part of the case might stay in your pocket. Not that my jeans are that skinny...but I have seen it happen with others...just saying...

In general, I like this case better than most. Again, I don’t like the bulky cases. I try to not put my phone through lots of turmoil. I like the look and the feel of an iphone without anything on it. If I could have no case I would. This is the best option if you are looking for good protection and keeping the sleek style of an iPhone 4/4S.

Sincerely,

Nick Andrus

ZellaTek News

February 17, 2012 12:44:33 PM CST

     What's up fellow Zealouts?

I wanted to update everyone on all the cool things going on here at ZellaTek.  As you can see we have tweaked the website a little to make it more user friendly!!  Just a few of the cool features we've added are the wishlist, my cart, easier checkout, and a My Account section that will allow you to see what you've ordered and your order history.  The look of the site is also a little different and in my opinion more appealing.  The store is easier to navigate and the blog is layed out in an easier to view way that will allow you the reader to see what you want to read without having to scroll through the whole post.

We have also added some things behinds the scenes like new team members.  While everyone knows DJ ("The Guru") and myself (Shawn "The Boss"), not everyone knows our two new team members Nick Andrus and Matt Frey.  Nick has been a friend of mine for over 10 years and has a great knowledge of smart phone accessories and internet marketing.  Nick brings a vast undestanding of what accessories are best for each phone along with the ability for us as a compnay to expand our reach in the big ocean of the world wide web.  Matt Frey is a long time friend and internet specialist who will be heading up our IT department.  Matt has built tons of wedsite for churches, businesses, and individuals and has a crazy good ability to make sites work properly and look good at the same time.  We are proud to have these guys on board as we build our business and reach into the cellular community.

In case you were wondering if we had a facebook, twitter, and youtube page, I am pleased to announce that we do!!!  Check out our facebook page here, our Twitter page here, and our Youtube page here.  We will be updating often and bringing you, are loyal followers the latest in cell/smart phone accessories, gadgets, news, breakthroughs, and updates.  Check back with us often and help spread the word.  Who knows, you might win a prize for doing so!!!

Much love Zealots!!

Seven awesome weather apps for Android

February 16, 2012 12:55:22 PM CST

With so many to choose from, here's a collection of seven weather apps for Android that are definitely worth checking out.

Weather is one of those things you pay attention to during the more extreme climate seasons like summer and winter. You'll want to see if it's going to be cold in the morning when you wake up or really hot in the afternoon so you can dress appropriately for your day. You may find one of these apps suitable by itself, or you can try combining a couple of them to get the most information.

The Weather Channel

(Credit: Screenshot by Nicole Cozma)

One of the most popular weather apps by far. The daily information is excellent in this app because it includes what the temperature feels like, the humidity, and UV index. The hourly forecast is superior to that of other apps, showing you the temperature, precipitation chance, and wind. No artsy line graphs, just numbers to let you know what temperatures to expect.

(Credit: Screenshot by Nicole Cozma)

You'll also find 36-hour and even 10-day forecasts in The Weather Channel's app. Radar maps are nicely marked with respect to the severity of weather conditions. Also, severe alerts are marked on the map with pop-up place pins that make it supereasy to read. Tweets, videos, and first-hand encounters are also included if you just can't get enough info about the weather.

WeatherBug

(Credit: Screenshot by Nicole Cozma)

WeatherBug is more traditionally used as a day-to-day forecast and weather app, but it does have useful features that can help you track hurricanes and other severe weather conditions. The app comes with a built-in alert system for weather warnings issued in your region or even nearby regions. There is also a weather map that displays a playable radar image of the forecast, so you can see where the weather is coming from and the direction it is moving.

(Credit: Screenshot by Nicole Cozma)

This app has one of the best radar features, but doesn't serve up m1Weatheruch detail on individual storms. The radar map, while handy for short-term planning, only has a range of about 40 minutes. Also, the warning system will only alert you if you're actively tracking that region.
